Thanks to the funding from National Sports Foundation, Sailability have awarded one centre per UK region with the Centre of Excellence status and a grant.
Each centre meets a variety of criteria, most importantly the accessability of the club being able to provide sailing to 9 or more categories if disability, therefore being a Sailability Foundation site for at least 3 years. The selected sites are also RYA Recognised Training centres.
The award recognises the continuous hard work and efforts by the site in contributing to disabled sailing.
These sites are now examples of good practice within disabled sailing. We refer potential new sailors to them, but they are also a vital link for clubs and centres that wish to get involved and want to see how things happen in practice.
