Powerboat with disability

Not just sailing ...

Sailability's main aim is to enable people with disabilities to enjoy sailing. As this progresses and more people realise the opportunities that being out on the water can offer, we are starting to see developments within other watersports.

Working with the RYA is an enormous benefit not only for Sailing Clubs to be recognised centers but we can see other watersport centers such as powerboat centers that have facilities for disabled people.

Powerboat sites approved for having accessible shore based facilities and offer the activity to disabled sailors are listed in our Sailability center under ‘Find a Facility’. However, we wish to highlight this activity so more people can be aware that the opportunities do exist.

Current Power Boating organisations offering disabled sailing are:

Absolute Aqua
Boatability

If you are aware of any other organisations that offer powerboating for disabled people please forward us the details so we can add them to this list.

Please contact Connie at Sailability if your powerboat center wishes to be approved to cater for disabilities.
