RYA COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2008
Nominations are invited for election to the RYA Council to take effect from the AGM on Friday 28 November 2008
.
All candidates must be personal or life members of the RYA and must be proposed and seconded by personal or life members.
Nominations must reach the Chief Executive by 4.30 pm on Friday 26
September 2008 and should be accompanied by information to be included on the ballot paper, as set out on the nomination form, in case of a contested election.
The Council meets 4 times a year on Wednesday afternoons, normally in London. Basic travel expenses are paid for attendance.
RYA COUNCIL
The RYA is a Company Limited by Guarantee and the Council is its Board of Directors. The Council debates and decides policy issues, approves the annual budget and accounts and sets subscription levels.
There are
five vacancies on Council to represent the personal and life members. If the number of candidates exceeds the number of vacancies a ballot paper will be circulated to all personal members and the result announced at the AGM.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The RYA AGM will take place on Friday 28 November 2008 (time to be confirmed) at One Great George Street, Westminster, London SW1P 3AA.
