National Events
As a T15 inter-club sailor there are certain national events you should consider attending to help develop your sailing ability. Also look at the Zone Events page, Open Training Opportunties page and Where Next? page too.
Tiree Wave Classic 2012
For the aspiring wave sailors amongst you, you might like to attend the Tiree Wave Classic, either as a spectactor, or to participate. The date for the event is 13-19 October 2012.
For general information about the event, visit the BWA website.
Weymouth Speed Week 2012
If speed is your thing, then you won't want to miss the world famous Weymouth Speed week held on Portland Harbour, the birthplace of speed sailing.
Watch this space for the dates for 2012; Weymouth Speed Week is open to all types of craft, ages and ability.
Speed week is an extremely popular event attracting a real cross-section; young, old, first-timers to hardened old hands. It's the oldest running speed event on the planet with a mix of fun, good competition and social, encouraging people to come back year after year.
As well as the usual great prizes biased towards the amateur and beginner groups, there's also the great and the good to rub shoulders with.
It has been confirmed that there will now be a speed record introduced for the techno class.
Visit the UKWA website for further information.
BSA Master Blasters
Master Blaster involves racing from the beach, out to a buoy and back again, beating as many people as you can. Great fun! Suitable for all club level sailors - T15 sailors, their parents, coaches, anyone really! If you can windsurf then give it a go - we think you'll be hooked!
Seven events are scheduled to take place around the country ending with the BSA Grande Finale! If you fancy having a go at a Master Blaster event, then turn up and join in the fun. For details check out the BSA website.
UKWA Inland Events
These events are suitable for Team15 sailors, as well as their parents and older siblings. Fun, social events aimed at existing windsurfers who want to have a go at racing. There are some very good racers who compete, but equally, there are lots of newcomers who join in and soon improve.
For Team15 sailors some of these events offer the opportunity of a coached event alongside the racing. Since this is an opportunity not to be missed, visit the Open Training Opportunities page for further information.
Also visit the UKWA website for more details about the association and the various racing disciplines and events it runs.
National Windsurfing Festival 2012
The 2012 National Windsurfing Festival will take place over 7-9 September 2012 at Hayling Island (Inn on the Beach). Why not make it a club away day and visit as a group? You can compete or simply spectate - either way it will be excellent fun with lots going on!
Team15 sailors should check out the BSA Turbo15 event, which offers sailors under the age of 16, the opportunity to compete in their own series during the weekend and join up with the pro's for a spot of night windsurf action. For more information about the National Windsurfing Festival (NWF), check out the NWF website.
