 If you've not done so already it's not too late to register for the new format RYA Club Development Conference. It will be held in the Londesborough Room on 6 March 2010 at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace, London. There are still a few places left, so if you would like to join us, don't delay. You can reserve your place by completing the registration form.
The event is aimed at clubs which are looking to increase membership participation and develop what they offer, using the resources that the RYA can provide. It is most appropriate for those responsible for the development activities in your club so, if that's not you, could you please forward this email to the appropriate person?
We will start the event at 10.30 with a general session on RYA support for clubs, with an update on programmes and resources. It will introduce a new ‘How to market your club’ resource, look at information from Sport England that could help you get and keep more people on the water, plus the opportunity to hear about a real life example from a club which has developed successfully, using RYA resources.
This will be followed at 11.15 by ‘coffee and cakes’ and the chance to talk to your Regional Development Officer, High Performance Manager and other RYA staff, who are your key to unlocking the resources the RYA has to offer.
A series of workshops will then follow, with the opportunity for you to choose the ones which are most relevant to your club. The workshops on Saturday 6 March are as follows:
12.00 Marketing your club
13.00 Introducing fun and accessible racing to all
14.00 Achieving and maintaining Training Centre status
15.00 Finding funding for your club
Attendees will be provided with two tickets to visit the show and these will be available for collection on the day, at the conference.
