Junior and Youth Sailing in Scotland are managed by the Royal Yachting Association Scotland (RYAS), which is based in Scotland. The RYA has an office based in Edinburgh, which is staffed by three full time and two part time members of staff.

Scottish Area Squads
RYA Scotland runs Scottish Zone squads in Windsurfing, Optimist, Topper, Laser, 29er and 420 classes. In addition to this, Area squads are run in the East (EOSS) from Port Edgar, in the West (WOSS) from Largs SC and in the North (NOSS) at various locations, this training is run in the winter period. RYA Scotland also runs junior and youth squad coaching throughout the summer.

National Squad Criteria and selections can be found on the RYA Scotland web site.
Squad training will take place at Cumbrae National Water Sports Centre on the west coast of Scotland; training is run over weekends throughout the winter months in preparation for the following season.
RYA Scotland Zone Championship aimed at Junior Classes will be held on 27/ 28 September 2008 at Largs SC.
