Do you wish to join the RYA Team Racing Group (TRG)?

The Group is currently being re-constituted, and there are vacancies for up to four new members, some of whom should be currently active team racers.

The role of the TRG is to encourage and oversee all aspects of team racing in GBR. Its current focus is on encouraging and supporting grass roots growth (clubs, schools, universities, classes), improving the quality of team racing events, and developing race officials and coaches.

The key areas of expertise required within the TRG are:

  • Team racing knowledge and experience

  • Management of team racing resources (boats, volunteers etc)

  • Team race regatta management

  • Umpiring and race management

  • Coaching

The TRG will normally meet by conference call three times a year; the first meeting of the new Group will be in late October or early November. In addition there will be an annual get-together open to all team racers that will review the Group’s activities and priorities.

If you would like to apply to join the TRG, please email Jack Fenwick, RYA Keel-boat Manager and copy Chris Atkins, Chairman of TRG by 22nd September 2017. Your email should include some brief notes on your particular areas of interest and expertise in team racing, and what you would hope to contribute to the committee and a completed candidate competency form.
