Charitable Funding for Sailing

The RYA recognises the significant benefits charitable funding brings to sailing and boating.

RYA Sailability: RYA Sailability is the charity of the Royal Yachting Association which offers people who think they can’t even get on a boat, let alone sail it, the chance to have a go.

Eric Twiname Trust: The Trust was set up in an informal way in 1980 by Eric Twiname’s father Alec, in order to perpetuate Eric’s memory and to enable his many and diverse sailing interests to continue.

John Merricks Sailing Trust: The John Merricks Sailing Trust has been in operation for twelve years and has helped many young sailors and youth sailing organisations to achieve their goals.

Royal Thames Yacht Club Charitable Trust: The RTYC provides funding for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who would not otherwise be able to afford the valuable experience of going to sea as part of a working crew.
