Lobbying

The RYA aims to keep our sport as free of red tape and unnecessary legislation as is possible.

The RYA engages with Government agencies, local authorities and harbour / navigation authorities.

We seek to influence any legislation that may impact on the public right of navigation or may otherwise have the effect of making boating more difficult or expensive.

We also monitor the activities of a number of legislators, from international bodies such as the International Maritime Organisation and the institutions of the European Union to national and devolved administrations within the UK.

Marine and Coastal Access Act
A question of balance.
Drink Driving Laws for Boaters
Fair and practical?
e-Borders
Securing the UK's borders?
Flare Disposal
A combustible issue.
Offshore Energy Developments
Navigational safety.
DfT - Merchant Shipping Act
The proposed change in the legislation isn’t going to make any difference to what we are doing on the water.
