Designed by Jan Linge, the Yngling was introduced the Olympic games at the 2004 Summer Games in Athens. It is believed that Linge originally designed the Yngling for his children, who were too small for the Soling. It is a three person women’s keelboat with three sails (mainsail, jib and spinnaker) and a maximum weight limit of 205 kilos. Sailors in this class will be required to weigh in each morning of the Olympic Games to make sure they do not exceed the weight limit.
