The British Sailing Team

The British Sailing Team in the Olympic and Paralympic classes consists of three squads of sailors – the Podium Squad, Podium Potential Squad and Podium Potential Pathway Squad - who compete across 10 different Olympic events. These sailors participate in regattas around the world, including World and European Championships and the World Cup series. Each win brings them closer to their goal – to be selected to be part of Team GB, representing Great Britain at the Olympic.

Olympic classes competitions comprise 10 events: Finn, Laser, Laser Radial, 470 (men's and women's), 49er, 49erFX,  Nacra 17, RS:X (men’s and women’s windsurfers).

The team is managed by the Royal Yachting Association, and is made up of approximately 70 sailors who compete across the 10 different classes. The sailors are backed up by support staff including coaches, nutritionists, meteorologists, psychologists and physiotherapists.
