First boat you sailed and where?

Cadet at South Cerney Saiing Club. My local lake.

Who got you into sailing?

My Nan asked if I wanted to try it when I was 8 and I’ve done it ever since.

Favourite boat?

Love the 49er to sail purely because of the constant challenge and progression but you can’t rule out how cool foiling boats are.

Biggest influence in your career to date?

Coaches and the influence they have throughout a career supporting you all the way.

Your worst moment in sailing so far?

Putting a hole in my cadet the first time sailing it!

Your best moment in sailing so far?

I couldn’t pinpoint one best moment. But sending downwind definitely puts a small on my face!

Best sailing venue in the UK?

The ease of launching at Weymouth combined with the facilities make it the best but I believe it is always good to sail elsewhere otherwise you become too used to an environment.

If you weren’t a professional sailor what else would you be?

A semi-professional sailor trying to become pro. Or use my biomedical sciences degree in research.

How do you progress from a club sailor to an Olympic class sailor?

The way you approach everything with a certain attitude. Constantly looking at every aspect to make you better and analyzing everything.

What are your greatest passions outside of sailing?

Surfing and cycling are a great escape!

Has injury ever prevented you from sailing?

A broken collar bone and broken wrist. We won’t mention how a girl broke my wrist playing basketball!

Most expensive sailing accident?

I haven’t had big accidents but the accumulation of 49er tillers is getting costly!

Do you follow any other sports?

I follow the cycling tours other than that I prefer doing them!

Any heroes?

No heroes but a lot of respect for the guys at the top of the international circuit that we’re chasing to beat.

What other sports do you play?

Lacrosse

What would you love to do but never have the time or money for it?

Convert my families old split screen VW camper but it’s not a small job!

What word or phrase most depicts your personality?

Charismatic

Name 3 things that are always in your shopping trolley?

Soya milk, couscous, peppers

What would your super power be?

The ability to control time.

What makes you angry?

Not much really.

Dream holiday?

Somewhere hot with clear blue water and perfect sailing and surfing!

What is better about football than sailing?

The millions of supporters and fans that make the sport as big as it is globally.
