Conversion of Level 2 instructors and above
Those holding the Level 2 instructor qualification prior to the scheme review have been transferred to Intermediate planing/non-planing instructors, but must complete a conversion course before their next revalidation is due. Conversion courses will be one day regional events. Further details are available from your Regional Development or Liaison Officer. These courses will cease to be run from Spring 2009. Beyond this date, Level 2 and above instructors will need to revalidate independently.
* All candidates are required to hold a first aid certificate. Acceptable certificates include the RYA’s First Aid Certificate, First Aid at Work, First Aid at Sea, or any other certificate issued on completion of a course which is a minimum of one day’s duration, recognised by the Health and Safety Executive and includes the treatment of hypothermia, cold shock and drowning.
*Please note that if you wish to attend a tidal instructor training course, the Powerboat Level 2 should be completed at a coastal location.
