How to Revalidate
Racing Coaches are requested to revalidate every 3 years to ensure their continual education as a coach.
Revalidation can be done in 3 ways.
- Attendance of Club and Coach Conference - at various venues in December [inc Scottish and Welsh Conferences].
- Attendance of the Dinghy Sailing Show - at Alexander Palace, North London in March [upon presentation of logbooks and certificates].
- Attendance of Coaches Professional Development [Squad coaches only]
Attendance of a Club & Coach Conference is an excellent chance to improve your coaching skills and to find out what will make the difference to your sailors. We also hope that this is something that will improve your own sailing as well as firing you up to coach the next batch of Ben Ainslie's.
We are keen to keep active coaches coaching so if you have any queries or if you cannot attend Club & Coach Conference, please contact the RYA Coaching Development Team.
What do I need to bring with me to revalidate?
- A Valid First Aid certificate
- A Powerboat Level 2 certificate
and if you can
- your Dinghy Coaching Logbook (AKA G14 or now the G101 Coaching Manual)
Any comments and feedback about the revalidation process will be gratefully received.
