Welcome

Welcome drinks on your arrival and the choice of either a BBQ or a la carte meal at the marina’s ‘Boat that Rocks Bar and Restaurant’ on your first evening.

Tour the sailing venue

RYA Racing Manager, John Derbyshire, OBE will take participants on a unique tour of the London Olympic and Paralympic 2012 sailing venue.

You can also take a look at the remarkable ‘Boat Project’, a 30ft seafaring vessel made from donated wooden items. For a lucky few there may even be the opportunity to go for a sail on this truly ‘one-off’ boat, which is one of 12 public art commissions from across the UK celebrating the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

Celebrations at Portland Castle

A special evening of celebrations, hosted by popular sailor and author, Tom Cunliffe; with a red, white and blue 'British Street Party’ theme it promises to be a night to remember.

There will be an after dinner talk from Stephen Park OBE, RYA Olympic Manager, providing you with an insight into the team's preparations for the Games, as well as the opportunity to meet members of the British Sailing Team/ Olympic squad.

Watch the racing

Spectator boats will be available to take you out on the water to watch the Sail for Gold regatta, the final international sailing regatta prior to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, with commentary from double Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ayton.
