Facilities Planning
The RYA Planning Handbook is designed to help staff or members of a coastal or inland waterside facility identify the development and environmental consents needed for a particular type of development and provides guidance on:
- How to identify the necessary consents
- How to structure the various applications
- Supporting information to optimise prospects
- The process to be followed including timescale and costs
Every development proposal and facility is unique; each agency does things differently, each authority has its own particular policy approach to issues. In other words, this Handbook is the starting not the finishing point and should be used for guidance only.
The Planning Helpline
RYA clubs, training centres and members throughout the UK will have access to a Planning Helpline to assist with all types of planning queries from the development of their own facilities to the impact external proposals or plans may have on their facilities, courtesy of Zyda Law LLP.
It’s easy to use by logging onto the Helpline from the Zyda Law homepage. Complete the form and someone will get back to you within 36 hours. Alternatively you can call 01270 620660 or email planninghelpline@zydalaw.com and you will be asked to complete a pro forma either online or over the phone and will be given any initial advice free of charge.
Depending on the nature of your query, you may get the answer within that initial contact, however for more complex queries or assistance Zyda Law will advise you in writing on your best options to proceed.
