Racing Charter
The RYA Racing Charter is a set of guidelines designed to help make racing more fun, fair and welcoming for competitors and organisers at all levels. The Charter promotes good rule observance and encourages sportsmanship and communication between competitors and organisers. The Charter also provides a framework for Rules Mediation and Arbitration, taking the pain out of protests.
Portsmouth Yardstick
The RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme has been used to handicap racing for decades. Now it's been brought right up to date by the RYA Technical Department with online and instant returns direct to the RYA from your club race results computer. This makes the system less onerous on your volunteers and more effective for competitors and race officers.
Consent to lay racing marks
The RYA pays a consolidated annual licence fee to the Crown Estate Commissioners on behalf of all affiliated clubs, entitling them to lay temporary racing marks on seabed areas controlled by the Commissioners.
