What RS:X windsurfing pair Nick Dempsey and Bryony Shaw had to say at the TeamGB media conference at Weymouth yesterday
NICK DEMPSEY
On naming his board for London 2012:
"My board's called Elizabeth after the Queen. I thought I'd let my followers on Facebook and Twitter decide. It's nice to get them involved and have a bit of interaction with them. It's the beauty of the media world we live in today. It's British isn't it? As British a name as they could think of."
On pressure:
"Pressure's what you make it. Hopefully I'm not going to feel the pressure too much, but it's a last Games, it's a home games and hopefully it'll be the pinnacle of my career. Hopefully, it'll be alright. I hope."
On whether he plans to retire after London 2012:
"How do I answer this one? No, I'm not retiring."
On perhaps sailing with wife - double gold medalist Sarah Ayton in a mixed multihull class at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games:
"Not if I can help it. I think that would end in tears - my tears. I'm really keen she stays my lovely housewife."
On whether wife Sarah offers him advice:
"Oh yeah, she offers me advice alright. It goes in one ear and out the other. It's great to have her so knowledgable, so experienced and so wise, but we do things very differently."
On competing in Weymouth and Portland:
"Weymouth is in my racing blood. I certainly have a lot of history here."
BRYONY SHAW
On how she's changed since Beijing 2008:
"A different hair colour. I was five kilos lighter than I am now."
On a recurring chest infection:
"In terms of this year it's been quite a major setback. I just have to have that self-belief from my experience rather than just the last few weeks."
On whether she might swear if she wins a medal:
"I guess I'm much more used to media this time round. A microphone was pushed under my nose and all the emotion flooded out. I'm an emotional person and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I'm sure I won't swear, but I'm sure it'll be emotion whatever the result."
