Race Day 9 Morning Preview:
The calm after the storm? Not at all.
Even though only four classes go today, the Brits are still chasing silverware in one of today’s medal races while the 49ers and 470 Men can go a long way to consolidating their medal chances with good performances today.
The 470 Women, RS:X men and women windsurfers, Match Race Girls are on a rest day.

Class: Laser (men’s one-person dinghy)
Sailor: Paul Goodison
Medal Race: 2pm (Nothe)
Target Time: 30 minutes
Fact: Although a back injury has hindered Paul’s event, meaning he can’t win a medal, he has vowed to try to go out on a high from today’s race
Class: Laser Radial (women’s one-person dinghy)
Sailor: Ali Young
Medal Race: 1pm (Nothe)
Target Time: 30 minutes
Fact: Ali could still win a medal if she wins the race and other results go in her favour
Class: 49er (men’s high performance skiff)
Sailor: Stevie Morrison / Ben Rhodes
Race 14: 3pm (Nothe)
Race 15: 4pm (Nothe)
Target Time: 30 minutes
Fact: Stevie and Ben sit third looking to consolidate on a medal position with two series races and a medal race
Class: 470 Men (men’s two-person dinghy)
Sailor: Luke Patience / Stuart Bithell
Race 7: 12pm (Weymouth Bay West)
Race 8: 1.30pm (Weymouth Bay West)
Target Time: 60 minutes
Fact: The boys sit second overall, four points behind the Australian pair
