Thank you to everyone that signed up for RYA Push the Boat Out. We now have 380 clubs signed up to take part, more than we’ve ever seen before.
PTBO resources will be with you in early April, in time for you to start promoting your event.
There is also lots more information and resources on the website to help you to plan and deliver really successful PTBO events.
With this year’s event promising to be the biggest we’ve ever seen, we’d like to draw your attention to Emily’s Code.
Emily Gardner was 14 when she drowned in a boating accident due to an ill-fitting buoyancy aid which snagged on a cleat when the boat capsized.
Her parents recently launched the Code which includes ten safety messages, with the support of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), HM Coastguard, British Water Ski and Wakeboard, and the RNL, to raise awareness for small boat owners and users.
With just eight weeks to go before Push the Boat Out, please ensure that all buoyancy aids and lifejackets are in good condition to take people out on the water and ensure that visitors are fitted with the correct size.
More safety information can be found in the PTBO Legal Guide but if you any other enquiries about your event email PTBO@rya.org.uk
