You know what it's like.
You see the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show advertised. You want to go. You think it would be great to get a load of people from your club to go.
Suddenly it's March and you find yourself making your own transport arrangements to the Show and then end up seeing heaps of people you know once you get there.
But a bit of forward planning could make getting tickets and getting there a lot cheaper and easier for all of you. And we don't just mean folk from the same clubs.
Next year's RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show takes place at Alexandra Palace in London on 4-5 March.
RYA Club Support Advisor Jackie Bennetts said: “Once again the RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show will be packed full of inspiration for clubs to kick start their sailing season. Not only can club members enjoy exploring show but you can also hear expert guidance at the RYA Club Briefing and find out how to make the most of your PTBO event at the ‘Push the Boat Out’ Activator workshop”.
So what can you do?
Take advantage of the RYA affiliated club offer
Did you know RYA affiliated clubs can take advantage of a special ticket price of £10 when booking 10 tickets or more. Don’t forget two children (Under 16) go free with each paying adult as well. That's a saving of £6 per ticket compared to if you just decided to head down on the day.
Get your advanced discount by going to the club area of the RYA website here where you will find the code.
Organise a bus
Clubs have in the past sorted out a minibus or coach to take their members down to the show, but if you're not confident of filling it, it could end up more expensive than intended.
But you could well find there are other clubs local to you having exactly the same quandaries.
Why not have a chat with the other clubs in your area to see if you all want to 'club together' to sort out joint transport to take a coach load of your members along.
Promote it like made to your members
The RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show works because it's people who love dinghy sailing, seeing everything to do with dinghy sailing, spending all day talking about dinghy sailing.
There is ALWAYS something new to take into the coming season, regardless of how long you've been sailing.
To help you promote the show to your members, there are posters you can put up around the club and you can also download lots of online resources like banners and logos to use for your websites, social media, newsletters, mail shots and email signatures. Just click here to get instant access to those resources.
How can you keep track of What's On?
