Get your entry in now

Entry forms are now available for the RYA Sailability Multi Class Regatta, which takes place at Rutland Sailing Club, 13 to 15 August 2010.

The regatta is open to those who race in the following classes; Access, 2.4mR, Challenger, Sonar, SKUD, Artemis and Laser Stratos.

The weekend kicks off with a race training day on Friday, offering on-water and shore based training sessions for both newcomers and more advanced sailors ,with a barbeque to round off the day (tickets for BBQ £8.50 per person).

A full day of class racing takes place on the Saturday followed by an evening regatta dinner, as well as spot prizes for the day’s notable performances, with the Ken Ellis Trophy race on Sunday.

The weekend culminates with prize giving presentations with prizes for the top boats in the class and handicap races.   So whatever your ability; from first time racers to Paralymic level, the regatta has something for everyone.

2009 competitor Keith Harris, who sails an Access 2.3 dinghy entirely by using his tongue, said: “The multi class regatta is such a great event it gives you the opportunity to race, see other classes in action, as well as being a great social event.”

Debbie Blachford, RYA Sailability Manager says: “The multi class regatta has been hugely successful since its conception in 2007.  Last year we saw some 72 boats and 94 disabled and able-bodied sailors take part and we hope to see even more people and boats out on the water this year.

“It’s a great event to get all the different classes together and for people to meet up with old friends and make new ones.  So get your entries in now.”

Entry forms and Notice of Race details are available at www.rya.org.uk/sailability  Race entry is £10 per person and includes training on Friday, racing fee and Saturday evening dinner for competitors.
