This weekend Britain’s Ben Morse heads to the UK Masters at Stewartby

This weekend Britain’s Ben Morse heads to the UK Masters at Stewartby where he will race on Saturday with his British powerboat racing peers before heading to Estonia for the JT250 World Championships on the 10th, 11th & 12th July.

Currently ranked 3rd in the World & Europe Ben is one of Britain’s most promising young powerboat racers. He is no stranger to international competition or to winning trophies and will be looking to make a huge impact at the World Championships, in his last year of junior competition.

Ben has been racing for over 6 years now and got into racing when following in his fathers footsteps. He first experienced international competition in Finland in 2006 where he finished a fantastic 10th in the competition. 2007 saw him return to the international competition and finish 3rd in the Europeans in Latvia.

The first ever JT250 World championships were held in Poland in 2008 and after his previous year’s achievements in European and national competition Ben was looking forward to the competition. He secured Pole position and walked away ranked 3rd in the world competing against 27 drivers from 9 different countries.

This year Ben will be aiming to better his current 3rd place ranking at the World championships and has spent a lot of time testing and training for the event. He will also be looking forward to checking out the competition for the JT250 European championships which are held in the UK on Ben’s home water in August.

Ben took 5 minutes away from his busy practice schedule and school work to tell us a bit more about racing powerboats. – check out what he had to say here
