Cornish Crabber exhibit latest innovation in dinghy design at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2012

All new for 2012, the brand new Cornish Crabber 12 will be exhibit at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show (stand C11) and is set to impress dinghy sailors of all ages and abilities.

Created by David Thomas, the Crabber 12 is optimised for well-mannered sailing performance and ultimate versatility – whether you’re racing with the family, or enjoying a spot of singlehanded day sailing.

As you would expect from a David Thomas and Cornish Crabbers collaboration, no detail has been overlooked and aside from being surprisingly easy to handle, this unique dinghy boasts many ergonomic features that will ensure nothing but fun for relaxed day sailing or racing.  

 Having launched the prototype just before Christmas, Peter Thomas, MD, has been very pleased with the Crabber 12’s performance.  

“Fresh out of the box, the Crabber 12 sailed exactly as we had hoped. She was fun but stable, easily launched and managed by one person with massive potential as a family dinghy. For us, this has been a fantastic project and we are genuinely proud of the result.”

With a large range of day boats between 17 – 30ft, the Cornish Crabber 12 is a new venture for the well-established Cornish Crabber brand.  

Peter continues, “Several years ago, there were a couple of lovely little dinghies in the Cornish Crabbers range, but for mysterious reasons the previous management destroyed the moulds. The demand was clear, and our aim has been to reintroduce a dinghy at great value that not only fulfils the expectations of those who love Cornish Crabbers, but also stands out amongst other dinghies for unique innovation and quality.”

The Crabber 12 order book is already filling up, several were sold off-plan and more orders came with her successful debut at London Boat Show.

During her exhibition at the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, she will be available at a special show price of £5495.00 inc VAT for the standard boat. After 4th March, the price will be £5995.00 inc VAT.
