Exciting activities from LaserPerformance at RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010 

LaserPerformance have announced a whole host of exciting activities for the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010. (Alexandra Palace, London, 6-7 March)  

Following the outstanding response to the LaserPerformance Pico Mainsail Design Competition for RYA OnBoard clubs and centres, the closing date has been extended to March 12. There will be a ‘design corner’ on the LaserPerformance stand (B2), so anybody who belongs to an RYA OnBoard club or centre between 7 and 16 years can come along and either submit their entry or design a Pico Mainsail. There are two entry categories, 7-11 and 12-16 and both have the opportunity to win six Pico Mainsails in their design for their OnBoard club or centre along with a two day sailing course at SailLaser.  

 LaserPerformance have also joined the Boating on a Budget team, to help restore an old Laser to its former glory. The finished article will be displayed in the Panorama Hall where you’ll be able to see how it just what they did and how much it cost. The renovated boat will be raffled during the show; tickets to win the boat cost just £2 and all proceeds go to RYA Sailability. The lucky winner will be announced on Sunday, 7 March at 2pm, and will keep the renovated boat along with some other goodies.  

Visitors will also be able to talk to the team behind the Activate Your Laser Fleet programme set up by the RYA, LaserPerformance and the International Laser UK Class Association, which looks to encourage clubs and Laser call captains to restore and return the 20,000 Lasers that are sat unused in boat parks and around the country back to water and get even more people sailing.    

Over on stand B2 LaserPerformance will be displaying the Bug, Pico, Laser, Laser 2000, Vago and Bahia and have some great deals on offer throughout the weekend.. The friendly and experienced LaserPerformance staff will be on hand to help you choose the boat that is right for your sailing needs and aspirations. Visit the stand and see how much you could be saving on a new sail or suit of sails for your boat.  

Don’t miss the chance to hear more exciting news for 2010 including the first ever LaserPerformance Global Regatta, held this summer at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. LaserPerformance are also are offering a chance to meet their new LaserPerformance Class Coordinators for the Pico, Bug and Vago classes who have been busy planning a wide ranging programme of events for the 2010 season and will be on hand throughout the show to answer your questions.
