The Killcord challenge; how well do you know yours?

This important piece of kit will be the focus of an interactive area on the RYA stand where you will be able to find out about the different types of kill cords and switches used and talk to an RYA Instructor about safety on the water.  Bring your kill cord a long for a health check and see whether it’s still up to the job!

While you are on the stand let us know your views on using kill cords and you could be in with the chance of winning a Spinlock Deckvest LITE lifejacket or Gill voucher worth £100.

Plus, RYA Instructors will be talking daily at 12.00pm and 1.00pm about kill cords, what safety equipment to carry on board and the right clothing to wear in the show’s Safety Zone in Solent Park (C067).

Used correctly a kill cord will stop the engine if the driver becomes dislodged from the helm position. Be safe; enjoy more.

Winners

We’ll also be unveiling a whole host of winners at the show.

On Sunday 15 September the RYA Honda Youth RIB Championship final blasts off as youngsters from across the country go head to head against the clock in a bid to claim the championship title.

Watch all the action out in the marina and come and see the champions crowned at the winner’s ceremony on the Honda stand (CO75).  Join us at 16.30 for the 2013 Championship prize giving and again at 18.00 as we crown the first ever Champion of Clubs winner.
