Get your nominations in now

With so many unsung heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes across the country towards a particular goal or cause that really benefits environmental change, The Green Blue is launching a new award to recognise the efforts of these individuals.

The new Green Blue Award for Individual Environmental Excellence, inspired by and in memory of Sally Banham, one of the founder members of The Green Blue, looks to recognise individuals within the UK recreational boating sector who have been inspirational leaders or just straightforward hardworking champions of sustainability who have made significant improvements in their organisation, club, training centre or business.

Jane Swan, The Green Blue Project Manager commented: “In the five years since The Green Blue was launched, we’ve been privileged to have worked with and had the support of some truly inspirational people, our Ambassadors Mike Golding, Dee Caffari and Pippa Blake, to name just a few.

“These Ambassadors have been instrumental in helping us reach out to the boating world and make real environmental improvements. However alongside the Ambassadors are the individuals on the ground nationwide who make a real difference in driving environmental change and this award has been created to recognise the work they do.”

If you know someone who you feel has been inspirational and gone over and above the call of duty to deliver real environmental change at your club, training center or business you can nominate them by completing the application form found on The Green Blue website www.thegreenblue.org.uk and returning it by Monday 1st August to info@thegreenblue.org.uk

The award will be presented at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September 2011.
