New Team15 Ambassadors

Four new Team15 Ambassadors...

Natalie McWilliams, of the East Kilbride Eagles and Rhys Cornfield of the Loch Insh Monsters are the latest youngsters to join the T15 Ambassador ranks and were awarded their ambassador status at the recent Team15 events in Scotland.

Both Natalie and Rhys are extremely proud to take on the role and look forward to helping other young sailors, many of whom are new to windsurfing and windsurfing competition.

Other Zone Squad sailors who have also recently picked up T15 Ambassador status are Mark Reynolds (TeamAstbury) and Dani Conroy (Hythe Hotshots).

T15 Ambassadors are all RYA Zone Squad sailors who have made the transition from Team15 into the squad programme where they receive specialist coaching to improve skills for competition.

All T15 sailors have the chance to join RYA Zone squads. Those lucky enough to have a place in the squads can apply to become T15 Ambassadors, who help promote the Zone Squads and the RYA competition pathway to T15 sailors, answering any questions which T15 sailors may have.

Natalie, Rhys, Mark and Dani join 17 fellow T15 Ambassadors.

Supported by industry leaders Neilson, Tushingham/Starboard, Windsurf magazine, Boards magazine and Neil Pryde, T15 was set up by the RYA to help make windsurfing more accessible and appealing to youngsters at a grass roots level. Fun and informal training sessions take place at T15 clubs all over the country for kids up to the age of 15, which are run weekly by specialist RYA coaches.

The T15 inter-club championship takes place regionally over the summer adding a competitive edge and race training for those keen to hone their skills. Kit can be borrowed from the clubs and the cost of sessions is kept low – to find out how to get involved and your local club visit www.team15.org.uk or contact the RYA 0845 345 0400.
