New Website dedicated to the history of Circuit Racing

Powerboat racing enthusiast Roy Cooper realises the importance of the history of the magnificent sport of Circuit Powerboat Racing so much so he is setting up a new website dedicated to the sport and it's history.

I am in the process of developing a non-profit website dedicated to the history of circuit powerboat racing in the UK.

My interest in powerboat racing began when I first saw the Embassy Grand Prix in the Floating Harbour in Bristol in the early 1970s, and I have been a keen supporter and follower of the sport ever since.

The site will have sections on the major UK events, teams, drivers and boat builders.

My hope is that the website will develop over time and include reminiscences and articles by those involved in the sport, past and present. It will also have a Hall of Fame and include links to the various, teams, boat builders, sponsors and motor boat racing clubs around the country; with a history section for each club. So far, those who have contacted me have given a very positive response to the idea of developing the website. The site should be online by Christmas. It’s domain name is www.fastonwater.co.uk

Of course many of those who were involved are no longer with us, have moved on to other things or retired. If anyone has archive material – photos, memories, memorabilia, etc that they would be happy to have on the site or know of anyone who may be interested, please let me know.

Best wishes

Roy Cooper
