Starters horn marks opening of RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010
A show that's an absolute must for all dinghy sailors
With a blast of the starters’ horn and the cutting of the obligatory red ribbon the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010 was officially opened in front of an already packed house by Skandia Team GBR’s Bryony Shaw and Nick Thompson and new RYA CEO Sarah Treseder.
Running over the weekend of 6-7 March at Alexandra Palace, London, the show is an absolute must for any dinghy enthusiast or even if you want to find out more about getting started.
Over 200 exhibitors fill the halls with everything from boats, kit and gear and books to expert advice from clubs and class associations all under one roof.
There’s plenty to see and hear all weekend on the Volvo Main Stage and at the interactive coaching sessions, where some of the best dinghy sailors in the world will be sharing their top tips and giving advice.
You’ll have the opportunity to get up close to the spectacular Vestas SailRocket which is on display for the first time since bidding for the sail speed record and pilot Paul Larsen will be on the Volvo Main Stage (13.15) sharing all the behind the scenes tales from the challenge; you may even get the chance to take a seat at the helm!
Take a peak at the stunning ‘Blown Away’ a week in Weymouth with Skandia Team GBR photo exhibition or the gorgeous GP14’s display in the West Corridor, or how about picking up some windsurfing tips at the two new windsurfing coaching sessions?
So if you have a passion for dinghy sailing or just want to find out more then head down to Alexandra Palace and enjoy the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010, in association with Yachts & Yachting and Suzuki.
Tickets are available on the door and cost just £13.00 for adults and £6.50 for children on Saturday and children go free on Sunday.
All visitors to the show will receive a FREE show guide and FREE sailing season wall planner.
