What's on at this years RYA Volvo Dinghy Show 2010
A packed agenda at the 2010 show
Over the weekend of 6-7 March 2010; Alexandra Palace, London once again becomes home of the RYA Volvo Dinghy Show, in association with Yachts and Yachting and Suzuki, the only show in the world dedicated to dinghy sailing.
Alongside the hundreds of exhibitors, the boats, books, kit and sailors the show boasts a packed agenda of talks and master classes from some of the dinghy sailing world’s elite.
National, European and World Champion Musto skiff sailor Richard Stenhouse will be sharing his top tips on perfecting your high speed sailing and boat handling, whilst Michael McNamara shares his secrets on preparing your boat for ultimate speed in the ‘Go faster tweaks’ session.
With speed in mind the show also gives you the opportunity to get up close to the ultimate sailing speed machine with its magnificent display of Vestas SailRocket. Pilot Paul Larsen will be taking to the Volvo Main Stage to share the challenges and experiences faced by the SailRocket team in 2009 when they attempted to break the speed sailing record.
Visitors will also get the chance to hear from Steve Cockerill, author of the ‘Boat Whisperer’ DVD series, about how to improve your posture and hiking, without damaging your knees, the RYA’s Chris Watts will be providing all the information you need about mark rounding rules and tactics, and ISAF 2009 World Cup series winner Nick Thompson shares his top tips for sailing up-wind.
