Zapcat Racing Abolishes Race Fees for the 2012 Season
The RYA Powerboat Racing Championship, Zapcat Racing have made the bold decision to remove race fees for all entrants to the 2012 RYA Zapcat National Championship.
This shrewd move means racers will pay less than £5 per race after they have paid their annual Zapcat membership and RYA race license fees!
“It is very simple, we have a couple of long-distance venues scheduled for this summer and we want to give every team the chance to compete in all Grand Prix events as well as ensure that sponsors and spectators are rewarded with as many teams as possible competing so far from home,” said Event Organiser, Martin Jupp.
Previous Three Seasons
“For three seasons in a row we have reduced race fees as well as offered significant discounts to teams paying in advance; this year we want to ensure all venues are supported equally and not just the local favourites in the South and West. Travelling to Scotland or the North of England for a weekend is costly for all teams as many are based in the South, this is an RYA British Championship so it is essential for us to give fans in other parts of the UK the chance to see some Zapcat Racing too.”
“We have one of the most exciting calendars in UK powerboat racing planned, starting and finishing in the big surf of Fistral Beach, Newquay as well five other different venues. Teams who may have considered sitting back and watching the Olympics this summer, it is time to think again and get back out on the water!”
Irrespective of this unprecedented financial assistance for teams, Zapcat remains one of the most affordable powerboat classes as well as motorsports in the UK; with so many privateer teams unsupported by sponsors it is in the interest of the series and race fans for us to assist wherever possible.”
Over £1000 saving per team
“By removing race entry fees we are saving each team around £1,180 over the season, this we hope will assist teams to compete in all the events rather than just a few because of financial constraints. Zapcat Racing will be the lowest cost to enter out of all the classes whilst still delivering the most racing.”
“We expect to pick up a number of semi-retired Zapcat teams as well as entice some new teams to the series through the great value we offer as race organisers to our teams, sponsors, spectators and venues in a race season.”
The 2012 Season
The 2012 championships will start in April and for prospective teams it is not too late to enter and or for sponsors to assist teams and or support the series.
