The International Powerboat Race Club (IPRC) is delighted to confirm that over the weekend of 28-30 July they will be holding their first UK event; rounds 1 and 2 of the RYA British Marathon Championship and UIM Ordinary International Marathon.

Formed to create new challenges for offshore powerboat racers, the IPRC’s marathon course, will see competitors race from Falmouth to the Isle of Scilly and back to Falmouth.

“The officials have been appointed, the insurances are ready and the harbourmaster is in agreement.  We have berthing and fuel arranged, local hotels are offering discounts and we have enough entries to make this a really exciting weekend. We even have a fireworks display and a 120ft yacht to help promote the event”, commented IPRC co-chairman Eugene Bari.

Co-Chairman Paul Mitchell added: “We are doing everything we can to make this as easy as possible for the most important people, the racers.  It has taken us almost two years to get the right plans and the best people in place and we are delighted with the support of the community.”
