Saturday 17th June will see teams from Norfolk workplaces battle it out to be crowned ‘Top Sailing Workplace’, with a Regatta held at Norfolk Broads Yacht Club, where some 16 teams from across the county will compete against each other. Organised in conjunction with Active Norfolk and the Royal Yachting Association, teams of three from each workplace have been learning to sail for six weeks at either Whitlingham Adventure in Norwich, Snettisham Beach Sailing Club close to King’s Lynn, or Norfolk Broads Yacht Club in Wroxham.
At the Regatta they will sail a simple relay race in their teams in a series of heats, before a grand final where the top sailing workplace will be awarded. Participants last year said it was "Great for bonding and team work. Great confidence builder. Nice to try something different. I found it a great stress reliever and relaxing experience. Highly recommend," whilst another said it was "A new personal challenge which has led to new skills and a desire to continue in some capacity, plus learning alongside people from other businesses with mixed abilities supporting, encouraging and challenging each other."
