South Cerney Sailing Club held its second open morning of the season, following on from its successful Push the Boat Out event, on 1 July.

As well as advertising the event locally, it also used Facebook boost to maximise interest in the event.

As a result, there was a really good turnout of over 80 people, with a 60/40 split between adults and children, and most of them went out on the water for a taster sail.

Paul Kimmens, Sailing Secretary, said: “We signed up some new members on the day and a few are ‘in the pipeline' so in total we estimate that 12 new memberships (a mixture of individual and family memberships) were generated by the event.”
