The Andrew Simpson Foundation are delighted to be extending their training grants to sailing club volunteers for a further two years. One of the Foundation’s key activities is to provide training grants to the sailing community, to ensure that as many people as possible are offered the opportunity to enjoy the sport of sailing.

In 2018 and 2019, there will also be the opportunity to apply for RYA Windsurf Instructor courses at ASWC Reading and ASWC Portsmouth, in addition to current RYA Dinghy and Senior Instructor courses and RYA Instructor Endorsements across all 3 of their UK centres.

How to apply

The courses will be delivered across the RYA regions, and will be available to volunteers, who dedicate their time to teach children and young people to sail at sailing clubs and not for profit organisations. Visit the ASF and ASWC on stand at the RYA Dinghy Show B65 to find out how you can apply.

Additionally, all individuals will be entitled to 20% off any RYA Dinghy, Windsurf or Senior Instructor Courses at ASWC Portland, Reading and Portsmouth booked at the RYA Dinghy Show.

Richard Percy, CEO of the ASF said “The fundamental ethos of the Foundation is to increase participation in sailing and improve the lives of young people through sailing.

"One of the key areas we can target to make this happen, is through helping to develop the provision of youth training at clubs around the country. In doing this, we can increase employment opportunities, showcase the health and wellbeing benefits of sailing and create sailors for life."
