Southampton Water Activities Centre (SWAC) is one of the venues inviting you to try sailing or windsurfing for just £9 an hour on 22 July 2017, and all are welcome!
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never stepped into a boat or onto a windsurfer before. You and your family can get afloat and sample the freedom and exhilaration of a fantastic outdoor sport at this friendly centre based by the Itchen Bridge.
With hands on activities planned throughout the summer and with volunteers and professional qualified instructors these events will provide you with a safe and fun introduction or return to sailing.
From 10am to 4.30pm, the Centre’s qualified instructors will be on hand to welcome you. All you need is a towel, some clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet and your enthusiasm. The Centre will provide all the equipment and waterproofs needed. This event is open to all ages from 7 upwards. The Centre and water are also fully accessible to those who have physical disabilities, including wheelchair users.
Jon Kirby of SWAC says “Following the success of our recent RYA Push the Boat Out Day where dozens of people got out on the water, we’re delighted to be opening our doors once again to people to come and have a go.” The taster sessions are supported by the RYA.
Susie Moore, RYA Regional Development Officer for the South said: “Summer is a great time to feel inspired and to get out on the water. Sailing can be as physical or relaxing as you like. Why not try it for yourself?”
SWAC is a recognised RYA Training Centre meaning it conforms to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Booking is essential. Please turn up 15 minutes before your session start time. To book your sailing session and find out further information either call 02380 915753 or email SWAC
