All UK residents who wish to take part in Powerboat Racing in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland must hold a valid Powerboat Racing Licence issued by the Royal Yachting Association.

All UK residents who wish to take part in International Powerboat Racing must hold a valid International Powerboat Racing Licence issued by the Royal Yachting Association.  

You will need to complete the RYA Offshore Racing Licence Application to compete in the Offshore Racing Discipline.

Therapeutic Use Exemption Form  (TUE) - This only applies if you on certain types of medication and need to submit it to UK Sport. A copy of the TUE Form must also be sent back with your completed Licence Application form, to check which medication this refer to please visit the World Anti-Doping Agency website    

POWERBOAT RACING CHARTER - Through its Racing Charter, the RYA seeks to promote fair and enjoyable racing for all.

OFFSHORE MEASUREMENT FORMS - All boats intending to race need to be registered with the RYA. Any changes in ownership requires re-registration.

You will need to download the Measurement Form, The measurer will check that the boat conforms to all the criteria specified for its particular Offshore class, the measurer should be given 14 days notice prior to measuring. Please contact you club for a list of approved measurers.

Don't forget to contact the RYA office for a registration number.

 (Note: The measurer will charge you a fee for measuring the boat and the RYA will charge you a fee for creating a measurement certificate for it).

We will issue you with a  measurement certificate, which must be presented at race control at the same time as your licence. The scrutineer will record details of damage to the boat sustained or technical infringement at the event on the measurement certificate. This will be returned to the RYA to be recorded on the database before its return to the competitor.

Note: All cell boats (those with cockpits) must have a UIM log book issued with the measurement certificate, and this log book must be passed to the next owner if the boat is sold. It is a means of recording if the boat has had any damage or been involved in an accident.

Boat Registration Log Book - If your Class does not require a measurement certificate the Logbook Registration form will need to be completed.  All boats intending to race need to be registered with the RYA. Any changes in ownership requires re-registration.

The scrutineer will record details of damage to the boat sustained or technical infringement at the event on the Logbook. This will be returned to the RYA to be recorded on the database before its return to the competitor.
