On the Water

Sailability Centres rely on volunteer support.  For centres to be successful a wide range of roles need to be covered both on and off the water.  Many of the Sailabiltiy Sites where you can volunteer offer full training through the RYA Sailability Volunteer Support Scheme which can assist you in the role you choose but also enable you to develop new skills and take on different roles if you wish.

Sailing Sites use a variety of different boats depending on the type of water at their location, which could be sea, river, lake or reservoir.  Boats can range from windsurfers, dinghies,
small keel boats to large off shore yachts.

 Some 'on water' volunteering roles:
 Instructing
 Helming
 Crewing
 Race management
Support member of the race management team
 Rescue Boat Driver or assistant
