Shore based facility recognition

RYA Sailability approves sailing sites around the UK for the accessability of their shore based facilities.

This approval is called Foundation and enables sites to be recognised by Sailability to cater or different categories of disability. This recognition concentrates only on the facilities at the site an not any activities on the water. To ensure sites are recognised for their on water activities please see Chapter 6 - On Water Recognition.

Sites approved are awarded status certificates and are added to our Sailing Site Guide, accessible online by using Where's my nearest search facility and also available in print. This Foundation Status is renewable at the beginning of each year. From this Sailability can provide disabled sailors with all the location information they need to start sailing at a site near them.

Please use the section on the right - See also to download the guidelines and self assessment form for Foundation Status.
