Keep up-to-date with the latest news about the 2011 ISAF World Sailing Championships

The 2011 ISAF World Sailing Championships will be staged in Perth, Western Australia from 3 December – 18 December 2011.

The 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships will be a key qualification event for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

More than 5000 visitors, including 1500 sailors, are expected to visit Western Australia for the two week competition to determine the world champion for each of the 10 Olympic sailing classes.

It is proposed that all of the classes will sail out of a single venue – the Fremantle Harbours, situated on one of Western Australia's major train-lines and housing more than 1,000 marina berths, five boat launching facilities, 150 restaurants and numerous marine support services.

The Event will be held on the Inner, Fishing and Challenger Harbours and Bathers Bay.

The Perth 2011 Organising Committee propose to have seven competition areas from which to choose on any given day.

During the prevailing sea breeze conditions (South Westerly) all course areas are to windward of the event village offering competitors a chance to tune upwind on the way to the starting areas prior to racing and an easy downwind sail back to the event village after racing.

We will post all the latest qualification information for the 2011 ISAF World Sailing Championships as soon as we have it.
