RYA Olympic Classes Qualification Series
Compulsory for all Skandia Team GBR sailors and a chance for non-squad members to make their mark
In order to ensure the participation of Britain's best Olympic class sailors, the RYA Olympic Classes Qualification Series is compulsory to all sailors on the World Class Programme. The events for 2009 are as follows:-
- Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta, WPNSA, 14-19 September
- Weymouth, WPNSA, 3-4 October
- Weymouth, WPNSA, 17-18 Ocotber
The early season RYA Olympic class events will now be called the RYA Olympic Classes Spring Series and the dates for 2009 are as follows:
- 14-15 March - WPNSA
- 16-17 May - HISC
Entry for the RYA Olympic Classes Spring Series and Qualifiers will be done on the day and participants can just enter and pay when they arrive. There is no need for pre-registration.
Qualification for grants and events selection will be determined by a sailor's performance at appropriate RYA and individual class events. These events will now be referred to as qualifiers not rankers.
