The 2011 49er World Championships take place in Perth, Western Australia, from 03 - 18 December 2011.

Skandia Team GBR has an enviable record at the 49er Worlds, with British sailors having made the podium at every event since 2002, apart from 2010 where the highest finish was fifth.

Skandia Team GBR will have seven crews in action at the 2011 edition, including 2009 silver medallists John Pink and Rick Peacock, 2007 World Champions Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes, 2010 European Champions Chris Draper-Peter Greenhalgh and 2009 European silver medallists Paul Brotherton-Mark Asquith also in the hunt for World Championship silverware.
