Rolex Commodores' Cup

Rolex Commodores’ Cup to be held in Cowes, Isle of Wight, over Sunday 15 to Saturday 21 August. This tough mix of inshore and offshore races will be compacted into a challenging 7 day racing schedule on the testing waters in and around the Solent.

The RYA has been invited by the Royal Ocean Racing Club to enter up to four GBR Teams of three boats per team into the forthcoming Rolex Commodores Cup (RCC), starting on 14th August 2010.

The Offshore Group of the RYA has decided that three teams will be selected by a Selection Committee and one by the High Performance Committee of RYA Scotland. They will be entered as four British teams, to be called Team GBR Red, Blue,White and Black. If a team has not been nominated by RYA Scotland by 1st May 2010, then a fourth team may be selected by the Selection Committee.

The selection of at least one team will be based primarily on performance in the trials series of races. Up to three teams may be selected before the end of the Selection Trials from teams of 3 boats (one from each class) that apply to be pre-selected as a ready-formed team of three boats (one by the High Performance Committee of RYA Scotland). The provisions of this Notice of Selection set out below are intended, so far as is practical, to follow the rules for the RCC, but to keep the Selection Trials as open as possible so that as many boats as possible can take part. The Selection Committee is happy to be contacted by prospective entrants to discuss any relevant details.
