National Race Management Course
The National Course (previously known as Seminar) is organised and run by RYA Race Management Committee approved Instructors. There is likely to be one per year held in varying parts of the country. There is an exam associated with the Course and a pass is one of the requirements for the NRO qualification. The pass mark for the examination is set at 75%. Preparation for the Course includes being very familiar with the RYA Race Management Guide (click on the download button on the right side of this page).
Candidates attending this seminar must be a RYA Race Officer (previously known as Regional Race Officer) unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Existing National Race Officers are encouraged to attend as a refresher.
Senior officials of Classes are welcome to attend so they can experience first hand what is being taught to GBR race managers.
The closing date for applications to attend the National Race Management Course is two weeks before the date of the Course.

RYA Race Management Course
The RYA Race Officer Course was previously known as the Regional Race Officer (RRO) Seminar and are organised by the Regional Race Management Coordinators and run by RYA Race Management Committee approved Instructors. The Courses are held around the country. Preparation for the course includes being familiar with the RYA Race Management Guide (click on the download button on the right side of this page). At the end of the Course, a 50 question multi-choice exam is set with a 70% pass mark. A pass in this exam gives the candidate, as long as they are an RYA member, an automatic Race Officer Theory Course Certificate. This exam pass is one of the requirements for the RRO qualification.
The closing date for applications to attend the RYA Race Officer Course is two weeks before the course date.
