Race Officer Courses
RYA Club and Coach Conferences are aimed at all those with an interest or involved in delivering, planning or coordinating club training, racing and coaching for both juniors and adults. Helping committees, volunteers, instructors and coaches to develop ideas and evolve their programme for next year’s season, the events are your chance to get the lowdown on issues likely to influence your club’s training, racing and coaching activities in 2011.
Unfortunately, due to the extreme weather, the Club and Coach Conference at Bewl Water SC on December 4th had to be cancelled. It is planned to reschedule this in the New Year and attendees will be contacted. But anyone else who could not make the December date will be more than welcome!
There will be updates from RYA Regional Development Officers & High Performance Managers on what is new including essential information for your club and how best RYA staff can help, as well as a choice of workshops with guest speakers on specialist topics. Also if you need to revalidate your Level 2 Race Coach qualification then you can do so at any of the conferences (please bring with you a valid First Aid certificate, Powerboat Level 2 certificate and your log book – G14). For more information and to book your place please visit the website at www.ryaracingevents.org.uk and click on ‘Coaching Course’.
Club Race Officer courses are available to clubs who wish to improve the standard of their race management. Normally the club would arrange a suitable date and venue. A one day course can also be split into two evenings, assuming the instructor does not have too far to travel.
Regional Race Officer coursefor the South and South East regions will be held at Hayling Island SC on February 20 2011. These conferences need to be booked online.
Mark Laying Courses have just been introduced and are run at on a similar basis to Race management, with the levels of Club, Regional and National. The entry level is Club, and normally a club would organize a date and instructor would be booked for training.
For further details on any of the above, please contact Richard Kingsnorth, South East Regional Race Management Co-ordinator Tel 01622 862254 email: richard@zwailing.co.uk
