Open Days
A good way to try sailing and to see what clubs can offer is to attend their open days.
To have your club/centre open day posted here please send details to mhaigh7@btinternet.com
On
Saturday 1 June Staines Sailing Club in Runnymede, Middlesex will be opening
its doors and inviting people of all ages and abilities to come along and have
a go at sailing.
Starting at 1 p.m. there will be a
whole host of activities taking place including free sailing taster sessions, a
chance to see the club’s facilities, and find out how to start and progress in
the sport.
Visitors who would like to sail
are asked to wear soft shoes and bring a change of clothes. Buoyancy aids will
be provided.
Joyce
Threadgill at Staines says: “We are inviting the
local community to come down to the club, have a go at sailing, see what the club
has to offer and get involved. Who knows if you visit you might just get
hooked! “
Joyce adds: “Please note that satnav
seems to take people to the north bank of the river, but the club is on the
south bank.”
