Setting up a first aid course
Keeping our region's sailors safe
There are two possible ways to set up an RYA Small Craft First Aid course at your club or centre.
1. Become an RYA Training Centre recognised to teach the RYA Small Craft First Aid Course. The Principal of the Training Centre can click HERE to find First Aid instructors to run the course at his/her centre. It is the Principal’s responsibility to ensure that the instructor’s qualifications are up-to-date. Download the application form to become a First Aid Training Centre to the right.
2. The other option is to find a suitably recognised RYA Training Centre that is prepared to deliver an RYA Small Craft First Aid course at your club. This should not normally be a problem provided you have a suitably-sized room with refreshments and toilets. First Aid RYA Training Centres can be found using the Take a Course in your Region search on the right.
Clubs affiliated to the RYA do not pay for recognition to run shore-based courses such as the Small Craft First Aid course. RYA Recognised Training Centres already holding recognition for practical or shore-based courses do not need to pay to add recognition for shore-based courses.
