High Performance Manager
The Royal Yachting Association Scotland is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the RYA Scotland Performance Team.
The High Performance Manager is responsible for delivering the performance elements of the RYA Scotland strategic plan which aims to ensure the success of Scottish athletes in national and international competition and support more Scottish athletes competing for the British Sailing Team at all levels.
You will be responsible for the ongoing evolution of a strong and sustainable performance pathway within Scotland and work as part of the RYA British Youth Sailing team to deliver the UK wide remit of ‘developing the best young racing sailors in the world’.
The High Performance Manager operates a significant portion of the RYA Scotland budget. Within this and working closely with the volunteer led Performance Committee, you will oversee the delivery of a programme supporting Class Academies, the Scottish Keelboat Academy partnership, National Development Teams and an Elite Athlete Programme.
You will have a background in national or international competition either as an athlete or coach and experience of working within a national level coaching team. You will have experience within the high performance aspect of a sport that has an Olympic pathway and an understanding of talent identification, selection and long term athlete development.
You are already a self-starter capable of working independently and also as a supportive member of a dynamic and energetic staff team in the RYA Scotland Office.
You have excellent project management skills and a track record of managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
The role involves considerable travel across Scotland as well as travel to wider UK locations and occasionally overseas. Consequently a full clean UK driving licence and valid passport are essential as is the availability to work flexibly including a number of evenings and weekends throughout the year.
Starting salary from £31,700 - £36,000 pa, 35 hours per week
