RYA Scotland works with a number of partners including RYA Sailability to help make our sport accessible to all.

Scotland's RYA Sailability centre of excellence is Castle Semple Centre in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire. Castle Semple is the education hub to help any club or centre in Scotland that wants to find out more about how to offer boating to people of any ability along with offering training for club members or instructors who may be volunteering to help a sailability group.

There will also be open race training on offer at the centre for sailors of access, challenger, Hansa 303 and 2.4mr class boats.

A centre of excellence is about a lot more than just having the right equipment; it is about the community around the centre. This community of professionals, participants and volunteers are who help the centre truly excel.  Castle Semple is happy to have volunteers and instructors who want to improve their skills come along and work with them during their normal work, contact David at the centre for more information.

RYA Sailability has a well-established national programme of activity to develop disability sailing. In Scotland they support a Regional Organiser who works with RYA Scotland and a variety of clubs and centres to deliver a programme of activity around the country.

We also work with Scottish Disability Sport to keep up to date with emerging best practice and changes to legislation.

RYA Scotland’s focus in the coming year is to increase active participation among disabled sailors, support existing sailors who want to improve their performance and support new groups to help create sustainable sailing activity.

Updates on events, regattas, training opportunities and last minute news will  be listed on the
